Roadside rest area Rosemary Park

A European traditional knot garden full of flowers of each season and the scent of rosemary. In this Rosemary Park, there is Shakespeare Country Park. Before you go, please check for schedule of various kinds of events performed in the park.

Eating abalone soba at Nanso-an

A soba restaurant in Chikura which have been popular for long years. Please eat abalone soba, the restaurant's specialty. (Closed on Thursday)

Glass Fish (glass-making experience)

Glass Fish is an atelier mainly dealing in blown glasses. In addition to buying glass works, you can also experience blowing glass (reservation is required). The experience of blowing glass is available on Saturday and Sunday only. Tel.: 0470-44-5660

Takabe Shrine

The only Shrine in Japan that worships the god of cooking. Hocho-shiki is performed three times a year, on May 17th, October 17th, and November 23th. In this solemn ceremony, a sea bream and the like is cooked using knife and chopsticks without touched by hand.

Beach museum

Privately-run museum of photographer Shinpei Asai. Photographs taken for 40 years are exhibited.

Pottery painting at KILN

You can paint on an unglazed pottery made in "Kaizan-yo" established in Chikura by Junsuke Asai. The work will be sent by freight-collect 30 to 60 days after burning. Reservation is required. Tel.: 0470-44-2791
