Tanjoh-ji Temple

The birthplace of Holy Priest Nichiren (800-year anniversary will be held in 2021) Morning sermon is held from 6:20 every morning.

Pleasure boat in Tai no Ura

It is said that three miracles happened on his birthday: a spring of pure water suddenly gushed forth in a corner of the garden; many lotus blossomed in full on the cold beach; and lots of sea-breams gathered up near the surface of the sea). This tour will guide you by pleasure boat to one of the three miracles, to see lots of sea-breams.

Seicho-ji Temple

Holy Priest Nichiren held training at this temple. There many cultural properties such as "large Japanese cedar of Kiyosumi (1000-year old cedar)" designated as national monuments.

Asahigamori

The place at where Nichiren uttered the holy invocation "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo." The view from Asahigamori, which was selected as "100 best Sunrise in Japan" is must-see.

Kyonin-ji Temple

Kyoninji Temple was founded for a Nichiren's follower who was killed defending Nichiren at the time of "Komatsubara Honan (persecution)", one of the four persecutions.

In the precincts of this temple, there is a large tree "Kojin no Maki" having a legend that the goddess of childbirth and children descended to this tree and defended Nichiren at the persecution. This temple is also well known for beautiful hydrangea blossoms.
